Seeing Missing Tabs? A Recent Browser Security Change May Be the Cause.
Intro
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge have introduced a security feature that prompts you to allow or block local network access.
If “Block” is selected, the browser may remember the choice and won’t prompt again, which can prevent tabs from loading.
Choosing “Allow” ensures your tabs display properly.
If “Block” is selected, tabs may not appear or load correctly.

What to Do if Tabs Are Missing
If your tabs aren’t appearing, try one of the following options to get them to load again:
Update the browser’s site settings to Allow local network access for the site.
Chrome:
chrome://settings/content/localNetworkAccessEdge:
edge://settings/privacy/sitePermissions/allPermissions/localNetworkAccessFirefox:
about:preferences#privacyin the Permissions section, update Local Network Access for the site.
Clear your browsing data to trigger the prompt again so you can select Allow.
➡️ For step-by-step instructions, see: How to Enable Local Network Access.
For IT Administrators:
Environments using DNS-based routing (previously applied for Chrome third-party cookie partitioning) may avoid this prompt entirely.
